Science Synapse AB
Software that makes scientific publishing easier to trust
We build and operate our own platforms for the research community. JournalLens helps researchers evaluate academic journals on evidence. JournAI helps authors find the right journal for their manuscript.

Our products
Two platforms, built and operated in house
Both products are developed by Science Synapse AB and run on our own infrastructure. Each has its own live platform that you can use today.
JournalLens
Live platformKnow which journals you can trust
JournalLens is a platform that helps researchers and institutions evaluate academic journals. It combines quality metrics, a credibility score and personalised recommendations so that publishing decisions are made on evidence rather than reputation alone.
Researchers face more than twenty thousand active journals and a growing number of predatory and low quality outlets. Choosing where to publish is high stakes and the information needed to choose well is scattered, inconsistent and often behind paywalls.

JournAI
BetaAI assisted journal discovery
JournAI helps authors find the right journal for a specific manuscript. It analyses the work itself and suggests suitable venues, rather than relying on the author already knowing the landscape.
Matching a manuscript to a suitable journal is slow, manual and biased towards journals the author already knows. Poor matching causes desk rejections and long delays in publication.

Why we build this
The problem we work on

Too many journals to judge
Researchers face more than twenty thousand active journals, and the signals needed to tell a credible one from a predatory one are scattered and inconsistent.

Publishing decisions are high stakes
A poor journal choice costs months of delay, wasted funding, and in the worst case damages a researcher record permanently.

The data exists, the tooling does not
Open bibliographic data is now abundant. What has been missing is software that turns it into a decision a working researcher can act on.
